As Payroll Administrator, you will own the processing of multi-state payrolls, fielding questions, maintaining related records, and developing and documenting various payroll policies and procedures. You will be a key player in our Australian expansion to support the company as it grows and use your payroll expertise to design, implement, and execute an exceptional global payroll function that integrates seamlessly into our operational systems.
Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager your new role will be responsible for processing monthly and fortnightly payroll including:
- Collation of branch time sheets to calculate and record all hours worked and leave taken for every employee
- Entering all pay information into the Blue Marble payroll system - aiming for a high level of accuracy. Our payroll is outsourced so familiarity with building relationships with payroll vendors is essential
- Thorough understanding of how to check the calculation of Workcover and superannuation payments to ensure all amounts charged are correct
- Thorough understanding of calculating payroll tax based on state requirements
- Ensuring correct deductions are made for any voluntary Superannuation contributions
- Ensuring dates used are relevant to the work period being paid
- Calculation and processing of required Termination Payments, processing of Eligible Termination Payment Summary Tax Form to relevant terminated employees
- Creating new employee files and entering new employee data in the payroll system
- Ensure that detailed processes and procedures, including screenshots, of how to complete and process payroll are documented and tested thoroughly so that in absences, this process can be completed if required.
- Manage the monthly payroll funding reconciliations and support the payroll accounting journals.
- The Payroll Officer should continually look for improvements in efficiencies in relation to payroll processing, superannuation, and Workers Compensation requirements.
- The Payroll Officer will use their initiative to assist other colleagues where required with workload and administration tasks.
- It is also required to have excellent communication skills as you will be required to interact with finance, P&C and other business stakeholders daily.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (BSA)
- Certified Public Accountant but not required
- At least 3 years of end-to-end payroll experience
- Preferably with experience in the US/AU/UK payroll
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Experience with Google Sheets as a bonus.
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and strong numeracy skills
- Used to dealing directly with employees and handling queries whilst being comfortable working alone and using your autonomy.
- A thorough understanding of GL reporting and other payroll reports is also required.
- Supporting our global operations through the preparation of the US GL file and production of global headcount reporting will be required. (For P&C Completion only)
- Residing near or within Metro Manila
