Role Overview
A Warehouse Manpower Resource Planning job involves ensuring that the warehouse is adequately staffed to meet operational demands, managing labor resources efficiently, and optimizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workforce Scheduling: Plan and schedule warehouse staff shifts to align with incoming orders, seasonal demands, and peak times. Ensure that staffing levels are optimized to prevent overstaffing or understaffing, balancing labor costs with operational needs.
- Labor Budgeting: Prepare and manage labor budgets to ensure cost-effective staffing without compromising productivity. Monitor labor costs and recommend adjustments as needed to ensure efficiency and meet financial goals.
- Staff Allocation: Coordinate the assignment of warehouse employees to various tasks (e.g., picking, packing, loading, unloading) based on workload forecasts and skill sets. Monitor task performance and reallocate resources as needed to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
- Forecasting: Work with warehouse managers and supply chain teams to forecast labor requirements based on order volumes, seasonal fluctuations, and other factors. Adjust resource planning according to trends and unplanned events like supply chain disruptions or order spikes.
- Productivity Monitoring: Track employee performance to ensure that productivity targets are met and identify areas for improvement. Use key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order fulfillment speed, picking accuracy, and labor utilization rates to gauge success.
- Staff Communication and Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between warehouse management and the workforce to address staffing issues, resolve conflicts, and maintain morale. Ensure effective communication within teams to facilitate smooth operations and minimize delays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or any related field
- Proven experience in warehouse operations and workforce planning.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and workforce management software.
- Ability to analyze data and forecast labor needs.
- Knowledge of labor laws and safety regulations.
- Problem-solving skills to manage workforce-related challenges.
