HR & Recruitment Manager – Scaling & Team Growth Lead
Remote | Part-Time or Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced HR professional who can lead recruitment, team-building, and performance tracking in a fast-scaling ecommerce business. This role requires someone who has built HR processes from the ground up, from recruitment to offboarding, including policy creation, talent retention strategies, and performance evaluation.
This is not just an intern management role—we need someone who can hire a core team, recruit key roles like a Marketing Manager, and scale a growing workforce efficiently. Additionally, this role involves structuring HR processes for long-term stability, including creating onboarding frameworks, tracking KPIs, and refining retention strategies for a mix of full-time employees, freelancers, interns, and influencers.
The ideal candidate should have experience in startup HR, hiring for ecommerce or creative industries, and a deep understanding of Gen Z hiring trends and remote workforce dynamics.

This role is essential for:
- Structuring HR processes, from hiring to offboarding
- Building a team of full-time employees, freelancers, and strategic hires
- Optimizing recruitment strategies for high-growth scaling

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience hiring for ecommerce and brand-driven businesses, including creative roles such as UGC creators, designers, content marketers, and influencer managers.
Responsibilities
Core Team & Freelance Hiring
- Recruit, onboard, and retain core team members such as a Marketing Manager and other key hires.
- Develop a network of freelancers, including UGC creators, influencers, blog writers, and content marketers.
- Define clear job descriptions, performance expectations, and structured onboarding processes for all hires.
- Ensure that each new hire receives proper training and is set up for success from day one.
Intern & Team Management
- Oversee intern recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Implement SOPs, training materials, and structured onboarding to ensure high productivity.
- Track and evaluate intern and employee KPIs, performance reviews, and contributions to business growth.
- Provide structured support to team leads, ensuring daily operations run efficiently.
HR Strategy, Culture, & Offboarding
- Build HR policies from the ground up, including recruitment frameworks, retention strategies, and compliance guidelines.
- Develop scalable HR systems, ensuring smooth offboarding processes that include feedback collection and knowledge transfer.
- Implement performance tracking systems, ensuring high accountability across the organization.
- Foster a strong team culture, balancing accountability with a positive work environment.
Recruiting & Talent Development
- Identify, attract, and retain top-tier talent for both full-time and freelance roles.
- Screen candidates based on motivation, adaptability, and cultural fit, not just skills.
- Mentor interns and junior employees, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Develop incentives such as employee recognition programs to maintain motivation and engagement.
Ecommerce & Startup Hiring Mindset
- Recruit for ecommerce-specific roles, including product listing, influencer marketing, content creation, and social media management.
- Operate effectively in a high-growth, hands-on environment that requires adaptability.
- Ensure the team executes tasks efficiently and on schedule to support scaling operations.
Data-Driven & Tech-Savvy Approach
- Implement tracking systems for hiring performance, intern projects, influencer collaborations, and team KPIs.
- Use or be willing to learn Shopify, task-tracking tools, and hiring management software.
- Analyze recruitment trends, hiring success rates, and productivity levels, recommending improvements.
Must-Have Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in HR, recruitment, and team management, preferably in ecommerce, startups, or creative industries.
- Proven experience scaling teams quickly, including hiring full-time employees and freelancers.
- Experience building HR processes from recruitment to offboarding, including policy creation, compliance, and retention strategies.
- Have hired and have the ability to hire for creative roles (content creators, designers, UGC creators, influencer managers, marketing professionals).
- Experience hiring in remote and fast-paced environments, ensuring high accountability.
- Proactive and independent, capable of handling HR operations without constant oversight.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, ensuring seamless collaboration across all levels.
- Comfortable handling performance discussions and employee retention strategies.
- Firm but approachable, balancing accountability with a supportive work environment.
- Able to work and bridge different time zones (US, PH, CN, EU).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international talent recruitment (US, Philippines, China, EU).
- Background in startup HR, high-growth environments, or remote team management.
- Familiarity with Shopify and hiring for digital marketing, influencer partnerships, and content creation.
- Previous experience working with early-stage businesses that are scaling rapidly.
