Job Description
Scope of Work:
- Branding & Marketing Communications: Develop and implement a public relations strategy to support the company’s marketing and external branding goals through earned media
- Media Relations: Develop and implement a media relations strategy by seeking high-level placements in top-tier publications, cultivating and managing long-term relationships with key editors, plan and oversee media engagement initiatives
- Spokesperson Management: Develop and oversee opportunities to amplify leadership visibility in media and relevant industry groups through activities such as speaking engagements and exclusive interviews
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications Lead in implementing publicity initiatives that build and sustain external brand positioning
- Coordinate with regional and cross-functional teams for PR executions including press release development and distribution, press conferences, speaking engagements, media interviews
- Establish and grow relationships with press, broadcast and other industry influencers with a focus on lifestyle and tech media
- Prepare media coverage reports and media share of voice, sentiment analysis
- When needed, leverage on media network and relationships on behalf of Shopee to influence public perception and strengthen the company’s narrative
- Minimum 8 years experience in public relations, marketing communications, media and journalism, with proven ability to implement impactful public relations campaigns
- Strong media network and an in-depth understanding of how PH media outlets work is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication with proficiency in copywriting and editing
- Must be data-driven
- Other required skills: project management, negotiation, budget management, strategic thinking
