PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all the sections under his/her supervision in the recreation, entertainment, sports and activities in the hotel.
- Supervises the staff conducting all activities, entertainment, and sports.
- Delegates work and assignments to the staff.
- Plans future activities.
- Prepares for publication a variety of brochures, posters, news releases, flyers, website and related communications regarding recreation programs.
- Develops, prepares, and justifies a budget for areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for entire recreation operations of the hotel.
- Responsible for all equipment under Recreation’s care.
- Supervises the sports program and the sports center.
- Attends all meeting as required.
- Acts as M.C. at functions.
- Makes regular inspection of the area under direct supervision.
- Train all new staff and provide a regular training to all members in sport team to improve job performance and meet hotel standards.
- Produces monthly reports on the operation of the department.
- Reports directly to and communicates with the Director of Rooms on all pertinent matters affecting Recreation.
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
- Responsible for knowing the monthly Budgeted Income and Expenses and ensuring the department meets the targeted figures.
- Preparation of the departmental annual budget, including anticipated revenue and expenses for Recreation area.
- To drive revenue initiatives using the resources of the hotel. Revenue opportunities will be capitalized from both hotels guests and the exploring of outside business opportunities.
- Develops and trains team member. Conducts on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff.
- To evaluate all Recreation team member after training-performance knowledge and potential.
- To oversee and check that all Recreation team member are on duty at their station and involved in activities projects or guest interaction.
- Oversee monthly rosters of staff schedules.
- Interacts and responsible for the safety of the guests and employees.
- Relays information on activities to guests.
- Contacts outside entertainers for work in the hotel and arranges their payment.
- Arranges and supervises all activities and entertainment for special occasions, e.g., Christmas and New Year.
- Arranges and supervises all activities connected to special requests for groups, or other guests.
- Arranges and attends all Recreation functions.
- Continuous learning through own IDP.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

- Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of all intellectual property and data bases, both hard copy and electronic. Adhere to Dust Internet and E-mail policy. Ensure Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Recreation, Leisure Management, or related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a hotel recreation, activities or sports management.
- Excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others.
- Fluent in English.
- Computer literacy.
- Good general health. Be able to perform hard physical work, stamina to walk and stand for long periods of time and the ability to participate in activities.
