Job Highlights

Responsibilities
  • Handle insurance claims calls and follow up on pending claims
  • Manage accounts receivable (AR) and make necessary calls to resolve issues
  • Check patient eligibility for in-network and out-of-network benefits using a standardized form
  • Determine which procedures require authorization
  • Utilize electronic medical records to access patient information and insurance details
  • Log into billing software to review and process claims
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients regarding billing matters
  • Assist in streamlining the billing process and improving collection rates

Requirements
  • Experience in medical billing, preferably in a pain medicine or similar healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with insurance claim processes and terminology
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic medical records systems
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data entry and financial transactions
  • Knowledge of medical coding and insurance regulations (preferred)
  • Customer service-oriented approach when dealing with patients and insurance representatives

Scope
  • Work remotely, adhering to the practice’s specified work hours
  • Handle a high volume of calls and claims daily
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with in-house staff to ensure seamless billing operations
  • Adapt to the practice’s specific billing procedures and software systems
  • Contribute to improving the overall efficiency of the billing process
  • Provide regular updates on AR status and claim resolutions
  • Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm Eastern
