Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team in the steel manufacturing industry. This role will focus on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting processes, including owning the accounting system that produces the balance sheet and income statement, calculating key financial metrics like gross profit margin, and generating monthly financial reports. Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounting System Management
  • Manage the company's accounting system to ensure accurate and timely production of the balance sheet and income statement. On the job training will be provided.
  • Maintain and update financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  1. Gross Profit Margin Calculation
  • Calculate and analyze gross profit margins for product lines and operations.
  • Identify cost variances and propose actionable insights for improving profitability.
  1. Monthly Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, including detailed income statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
  1. Compliance and Internal Controls
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, tax filings, and internal audit standards. We have our in-house tax senior.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective internal controls.
  1. Support for Decision-Making
  • Provide financial data and insights to support strategic and operational decisions by senior management, such as annual and monthly financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial objectives with company goals.
  1. Upskilling and Development
  • Undertake upskill training programs on debt and foreign exchange (FX) risk management provided by the company.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA is not required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred, but fresh graduates with strong academic records are welcome to apply.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
