- Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and high-quality backend applications.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, project managers, and the existing Hawaii team to deliver seamless and reliable user experiences.
- Work closely with an existing frontend and backend team and contribute to scaling efforts.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend logic.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications are always cutting-edge.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer, preferably in Laravel API.
- 5+ years in Agile software development.
- 5+ years in API-driven development.
- Experience working with ETL Pipelines.
- Familiarity with Availability Management (Bookings - Hotels, Tours, Activities).
- Experience with integrating third-party services such as FareHarbor, Klook.com, Agoda.com, Trip.com, Amadeus, Booking.com, and Airbnb.
- Database experience with MySQL.
- Open to adopting additional technologies that solve business challenges efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Assistant is open to exploring alternative tech stacks as long as they effectively address the current project challenges.
