About Xpress:

As we scale, we need a Head of Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing and brand strategy, ensuring strong market positioning and customer engagement. This role will be instrumental in shaping how Xpress is perceived by consumers, stakeholders, and industry partners across Metro Manila and expansion locations.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Marketing & Communications, you will be responsible for the entire marketing and communications function at Xpress. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive both brand strategy and execution, overseeing digital and offline marketing, activations, events, and corporate communications. This role is suited for a seasoned marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and has experience building and leading teams, managing high-impact campaigns, and shaping brand narratives.

As Xpress grows, this position may evolve under a CMO or VP of Marketing, but in the current stage, you will sit at the management table, playing a critical role in defining and executing our marketing vision.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Marketing & Brand Leadership

Develop and implement a comprehensive, data-driven marketing strategy across digital, offline, and experiential channels.

Oversee and optimize digital marketing efforts, including paid media (Google, Meta, TikTok), social media, content marketing, and CRM.

Manage and execute traditional marketing campaigns, including print, out-of-home (OOH), partnerships, and grassroots activations.

Ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints, positioning Xpress as a category leader in mobility and digital services.

2. Corporate Communications & Public Relations

Lead corporate communications strategy, ensuring Xpress has a strong voice in media, government, and industry circles.

Oversee public relations, crisis communications, and reputation management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Build relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers to amplify Xpress’s presence.

3. Activations, Events & KOL/Influencer Management

Lead on-ground activations, brand events, and sponsorships to drive consumer engagement and brand recall.

Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), influencers, and brand ambassadors to increase advocacy and visibility.

Ensure activations are regionally relevant and strategically aligned with local market conditions in Metro Manila and expansion cities.

4. Growth & Expansion Marketing

Spearhead marketing and communication strategies for new city launches, ensuring effective market penetration.

Develop hyperlocal strategies that resonate with new regions and adapt our messaging accordingly.

Work with government, business partners, and key stakeholders to strengthen Xpress’s presence in new markets.

5. Leadership & Team Development

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance marketing and communications team, fostering a culture of creativity and execution.

Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics for the department, ensuring accountability and results.

Work cross-functionally with sales, product, and operations to align marketing strategies with business goals.

Manage budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of marketing resources for maximum impact.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in both online and offline marketing, including activations, events, and public relations.
  • Experience managing regional or nationwide campaigns, particularly in high-growth companies or startups.
  • Exceptional storytelling and brand-building skills, with experience in public relations and corporate communications.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical capabilities to measure and optimize performance.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and scale a team.
  • Experience working in tech, mobility, e-commerce, or other fast-paced industries is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to expansion locations as needed.
