YOUR MISSION
The Head of Retail is responsible for managing and leading the country retail organization, achieving sustainable sales- and profitability- and inventory targets whilst ensuring a unique and brand relevant shopping experience across Own & Operated (O&O) and Franchise/Partner channels. Store Development & Portfolio Management
The Head of Retail is responsible for managing and leading the country retail organization, achieving sustainable sales- and profitability- and inventory targets whilst ensuring a unique and brand relevant shopping experience across Own & Operated (O&O) and Franchise/Partner channels. The incumbent must be familiar with local Retail operations, law & regulations and able to setup the overall Retail aspects of the company from scratch.
Strategic / Finance
- Deliver on financial- and brand objectives for the retail business in the country
- Develop 3-year retail strategy and ensure an integrated distribution road map is developed in cooperation with wholesale – balancing full price and factory outlet channels in accordance with country and regional strategy
- Develop winning strategies to grow and sustain sales to maximize sales and profit, working closely with wholesale to ensure market relevant price levels
- Own the budgeting and planning processes for Retail according to Global strategy
- Contribute to development strategy, annual budget, and business KPIs focusing on goals for revenue, margin and inventory
- Ensure that all stores (O&O and Franchise) have a cohesive message across the country and are supportive of key brand marketing strategies
- Develop and implement operating strategies for stores, ensuring these are understood and executed at store level
- Through the management of Store Operations, drive chain-wide execution, consistency and compliance of PUMA operating, VM, Training and service standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure high standards of store operations are achieved at all times, providing consumers with a high-quality shopping and brand experience
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations and make loss prevention a key operational discipline
- Provide support and work closely with 3rd Party Payment, Logistics Providers to ensure superior operations and satisfying customer experience
- Handle both offline customer complaints/concerns professionally with good communication skills. Liaise with all necessary internal and external parties to find satisfactory solutions in a timely and efficient manner
- Drive O&O and Franchise retail expansion and refurbishment plans in line with country and regional strategy, adhering to global store standards and -concepts
- Negotiate all new O&O leases and renewals in line with business objectives and Puma standards, oversee store construction and ensure on-time and on-budget openings and refurbishments
- Develop and nurture relationships in real estate and analyze business opportunities for more favorable terms and conditions on an on-going basis
- Work closely with Merchandising team to maximize opportunities and take calculated risks with buys through a disciplined OTB and Range Planning process
- Ensure product selection for all stores is based on grades/bands that reflect consumer profiles, competitive landscape, and store formats
- Ensure Retail Marketing plans are developed and executed seasonally – aligned with country brand marketing plans
- Work in accordance with Global VM standards and execute the look-and-feel of the store as pre-agreed with and approved by Global Retail
- Develop and leverage a diverse Retail workforce
- Develop leadership team capable of executing strategies and meeting financial objectives, and secure succession plan through effective hiring, development, training and staff retention program. Sustain a leadership style of active team involvement that allows talent in the organization to thrive.
- Support direct reports in solving cross-functional and HR issues.
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Business, Management, or related field.
- At least 10 years retail management experiences, including 3-5 years experiences in being a leadership role.
- Strong Operational and Store Development experiences, ideally from the Fashion/Sport/Lifestyle industry.
- Business level English skills
- Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Word and Power Point
- Experience in O&O as well as Franchise operations retail business is essential.
- Experience of project management in integration of new technology, system or service providers is a plus.

- Forecasting ability and the ability to analyze data.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and modeling skills, with an orientation to details, at both the strategic and exceptional levels. Ability to convert raw data into actionable business insights
