Role Overview

The Business Development Officer (BDO) is a pioneer position responsible for acquiring new corporate and generating new sources of revenues. For corporate accounts, primary focus will be on selling group life and medical insurance to mid-sized companies. He or she will also tap existing captive clients for cross-sell or up-sell opportunities.

The role requires a self starter and has a proactive approach to lead generation, client engagement, and deal closing.

Key Responsibilities

1. B2B Sales & Client Acquisition

  • Solicit from small to medium-sized businesses in need of group life and medical insurance.
  • Generate leads through cold calling, referrals, and networking.
  • Work with providers to customize and present insurance solutions.
  • Upsell to existing captive market based on their need and business requirements.

2. Corporate Accounts Development

  • Close deals with companies and onboard them as long-term clients.
  • Work with internal teams and insurance provider to ensure smooth policy implementation and renewals.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients to drive renewals and upsell opportunities.

3. Sales Pipeline Management

  • Track and report sales progress, ensuring a steady flow of leads and conversions.
  • Develop and refine sales strategies based on market feedback.
  • Meet monthly or quarterly sales targets to drive brokerage growth.

4. Account Maintenance

  • Monitor and ensure premium payment of the account
  • Addresses any customer concern or inquiries

Skills Required

1. Must have basic knowledge of contracts and agreements

2. Experience in corporate solutions and worksite marketing is required, while brokerage experience is a plus

3. Strong coordination, negotiation and project management skills

4. Self starter and works independently
