About The Role

We are looking for a Math Trainer to deliver engaging, interactive training sessions for teachers. This role focuses on enhancing math comprehension and instructional skills while integrating ESL methodologies. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with a passion for mentorship and a strong understanding of math and language instruction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development
  • Design and adapt ESL math training programs that align with educational standards and cater to diverse teacher needs.
  • Integrate language learning strategies into math instruction to facilitate teacher comprehension and retention.
  • Develop effective training programs for primary, middle, and high school math teachers.
  • Instruction
  • Deliver interactive and teacher-centered math training in-person and online sessions using various teaching methods and technologies. In-person activities occur at an average of twice a year.
  • Instruct teachers on conducting math demo lessons and help non-math teachers pass interviews and demo assessments for primary math.
  • Adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
  • Create tools and assessments to evaluate teacher progress in demonstrating math skills and language proficiency.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to teachers and maintain accurate performance records.
  • Manage training metrics, including attendance, show-up, and pass rates.
  • Support and Mentorship
  • Offer one-on-one support to teachers struggling with math concepts or language integration in lessons.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging training environment that promotes confidence and a growth mindset among teachers.
  • Guide teachers in effectively using educational technology for math instruction.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with other educators, language specialists, and support staff to develop integrated lesson plans and training resources.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on the best ESL and math education practices.
  • Community Engagement
  • Engage with teachers’ support networks to promote involvement in the training process and provide resources for independent learning.
  • Organize math-related activities, workshops, and free trial classes to promote interest and engagement in mathematics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, TESOL, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience training math teachers, preferably in an ESL setting.
  • Strong communication, instructional, and digital proficiency.
  • ESL/TESOL certification preferred; math teaching certification is a plus.

Work Setup & Requirements

  • Schedule: May require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.
  • Workdays: Five-day workweek with two rest days.
  • Location: Fully remote with potential onsite training as needed.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Desktop/laptop with Intel i5 (10th gen) or higher 8GB RAM or higher
  • Minimum 25 Mbps internet speed with backup connection
  • Backup power supply for at least 8 hours
