Job Description

As an Software Engineer & Systems Analyst Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on automation, process improvement, and system documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will contribute to the optimization of workflows and support the team by maintaining and updating key documentation and templates. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn about software development processes, tools, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Simulation and Updates:
  • Assist in simulating workflows and documenting observations for improvement.
  • Update existing documentation such as (but not limited to):
  • Design Template
  • Product Template
  • Known Error Database (KEDB) Template
  • ReadMe and API Guidelines
  • Coding and Development Support:
  • Write simple Python scripts for automation tasks, adhering to team coding practices.
  • Test and debug scripts under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Jira Board Support:
  • Participate in creating and managing tasks, epics, and user stories in Jira.
  • Learn and document the flow between the Customer Demand Board and Development Board.
  • Collaboration and Learning:
  • Attend team meetings and brainstorming sessions to gain insights into project workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and implementation strategies.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain and update process-related documentation.
  • Ensure all updates align with the team’s standards and templates.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Documentation and Template Updates:
  • Successfully update at least 90% of assigned templates and documentation (such as Design Template, Product Template, KEDB Template, ReadMe and API Guidelines - but not limited to) by the end of the internship.
  • Ensure all updates adhere to team standards and are reviewed by the supervisor.
  • Coding and Automation Tasks:
  • Develop and test at least 3 automation scripts that improve minor workflows or repetitive tasks.
  • Ensure 100% successful testing and debugging of the assigned scripts with minimal guidance.
  • Jira Board Participation:
  • Create or update at least 10 user stories, tasks, or epics in Jira accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all Jira items follow the defined workflow between the Customer Demand and Development Boards.
  • Team Contribution:
  • Actively participate in at least 90% of team meetings and provide valuable inputs where applicable.
  • Complete one mini-project or simulation task demonstrating understanding of team workflows.
  • Learning and Growth:
  • Achieve proficiency in at least one tool or process relevant to the team (e.g., Python scripting, Git, Jira workflows).
  • Submit a self-reflection report at the end of the internship outlining key learnings and contributions.


Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Python and version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with automation tools or frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using Jira or similar project management tools.
