Learning and Development Officer
The role of a Learning & Development Officer is essential in our efforts to enhance employee competencies and foster professional growth. This role is responsible for identifying training needs, designing, implementing, and evaluating learning programs across the organization. This role supports the overall Learning and Development (L&D) strategy under the Globalport Academy.
The Learning and Development Officer is responsible for liaising with other corporate managers and Port operation leaders to determine training initiatives and suitable training solutions to ensure that employees have the necessary skills to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Needs Analysis: Assist in the conduct assessments to identify training and development needs through job analysis, performance appraisals, training needs analysis, and consultations with management.
- Program Design and Delivery: Develop and deliver training programs using various methods such as classroom training, e-learning, and blended learning approaches. This includes creating training materials and ensuring compliance with statutory training requirements
- Globalport Academy: Organizes and coordinates learning and development activities of the Globalport Academy and builds relationships with vendors, training providers and consultants.
- Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback mechanisms and performance metrics to assess return on investment (ROI) and make necessary adjustments.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to performance management and employee development.
- Coaching and Support: Provide coaching and one-on-one support to staff as needed to enhance their learning experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with managers across departments and ports to align training initiatives with business objectives and ensure that learning solutions meet organizational needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Human Resources Management or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: At least three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience in designing and delivering training programs is essential. Experience in performance management processes, LMS is also valuable.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively conveying information and engaging with employees at all levels. The ability to build relationships is crucial for influencing behavior change
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess training needs, analyze feedback, and interpret data to inform future training initiatives
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and e-learning tools is important for managing training activities efficiently.
- Location: Willing to be assigned in One Corporate Center, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
- Travels: Light to Medium. Willing travel to various ports and BGC, Taguig City from time to time.
