Join Our Team as a Health and Safety Officer
Are you passionate about maintaining a safe and compliant work environment? We're looking for a Health and Safety Officer to ensure the health and safety of our team members across all operational levels. As our Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development of SHEQ policies and programs.
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.) during pep talk and safety meetings
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventive measures.
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
- Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using PPE)
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes, prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
- Any other tasks that maybe assigned from time to time.
- Participate in the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Triple Certification Systems:
- Health and Safety of all employees, customers, and contractors as your first priority per ISO 45001:2018 and RA 11058
- Reducing our impact upon the Environment with ISO 14001:2015
- Consistency in Quality service delivery using ISO 9001:201
- Candidate must be a licensed engineer, geologist or metallurgist w/ 5 years' experience in mining operation and mine safety work, or a mining engineer.
- Must have undergone BOSH Training
- Must possess leadership skills, proficient in oral and written communication
- Must know how to drive, with valid driver's license.
- Willing to travel as and when required in the performance of his duties and training.
