Operational Risk Officer
The Operational Risk Officer is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and reporting of actual risks against established/approved limits and non-compliance to internal and external regulations. He/she shall assist the Operational Risk Control Manager in identifying, monitoring, controlling and measuring risks in the operations of branches and head office units.
Operational Risk Support
- Implement the bank's operational risk assessment methodology, tools and risk reporting system.
- Monitor and report deviations/excesses against established internal and external limits (e.g. approval limits, exception reports, security breaches) to the ORC Unit Head and concerned units.
- Assist in identifying risk areas by performing walkthroughs of existing processes.
- Assist in validating items reported in the monthly Operational Losses and Key Risk Indicators Report (OLKRIR).
- Coordinates the risk management process and internal control activities with the business line.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of risk management policies.
- Assist the ORC Manager on the following:
- a. Conducting the RCSA exercise for covered head office and branch units in order to identify inherent risks, assess residual risks and control effectiveness, and monitor corrective action plans.
- b. Development of the KRIs and thresholds with the concerned units, and monitoring of risk mitigation, escalation and management action.
- Act as the Internal Operational Loss Database (IOLD) Custodian for the Bank.
- a. Collect/log and analyze operational risk events in the IOLD.
- b. Determine loss amounts and loss event classifications, and monitor corrective action plans.
- Monitor/track status policies and procedures endorsed by the business units’ ERMG assessment.
- Coordinate with business units, compliance, and internal audit on operational risk matters.
- Keep abreast with internal/external developments affecting the business.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Submit internal and external reports accurately.
- Maintain an effective records management system and maintain strict confidentiality on critical or sensitive documents, data, or information.
- Awareness of compliance and risk accountabilities at all times.
- Comply with existing bank guidelines and policies applicable to Enterprise Risk Management
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in any field, preferably business-related course
Experience
- At least 2-5 years of experience in risk management, auditing and/or banking operations
