Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) efforts at SMPC. This role is pivotal in driving the planning, implementation, and compliance with ISO 45001 Standards, utilizing industry best practices to achieve our EHS commitments and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Oversight: Direct and oversee the development and execution of EHS strategies aligned with SMPC's objectives. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 Standards and contribute significantly to Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity efforts.
  • Safety and Health Leadership: Lead the Ground Control Program, encompassing slope stability, general safety initiatives, safety culture enhancement, and occupational health and wellness programs. Innovate by adopting best practices and technologies to proactively manage workplace hazards and risks.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with department heads and process owners to identify and implement safety and health improvements across SMPC. Foster a collaborative environment to drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on new statutory, regulatory, and legal developments related to safety and occupational health. Ensure SMPC's full compliance and lead efforts to incorporate new requirements into our practices.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as a role model for safety and health, influencing others to prioritize safety in their roles. Coach and mentor direct reports and employees across SMPC, fostering a culture of excellence and safety consciousness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably BS Mining Engineering.
  • Professional certifications such as Engineer, DOE Certified Safety Engineer and DOLE Accredited Safety Practitioner or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience in surface mining operations with 2 years of which as manager and 3 years as supervisor.
  • Extensive experience in EHS management within heavy industries, with a strong understanding of ISO 45001 Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • WILLING TO BE ASSIGNED IN SEMIRARA ISLAND CALUYA ANTIQUE.
