Site Safety Officer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Mainly responsible for the effective implementation of the Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) Management System/Program as well as the provision of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards and other related operational guidelines and regulations set forth by the Company and DOLE/Working Condition.
· Conduct EOHS audit that entails the review of the Company’s EOHS programs through site inspection and discuss with the Site Engineers / Project Managers / Sr. Project Managers any identified hazardous act and probable corrective measures.
· Conducts a site assessment and coordinates with the Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager and/or Corporate Safety Practitioner on Safety Requirements of the Project.
· Orient site engineer and workers about safety policies and procedures. Provide complete job safety instructions and proper orientation to all workers/employees including, but not limited to, those relating to familiarization with their work environment.
· Conducts investigation reports of accidents/incidents. Refers to the Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager and Corporate Safety Practitioner any problem that needs to be resolved at their level. And provide, when necessary, measures in identifying trainings, drills, evacuation plans, etc., to deal with emergencies, fires and accidents including first-aid arrangements.
· Check availability of safety tools & equipment during weekly safety patrol and ensure that only approved specific industry set of standards of devices and equipment for the workplace, as applicable.
· Conduct a daily tool box meeting and/or Kiken Yochi Meeting (KYM) among workers and their supervisors to assess the progress of work and discussing ways to prevent possible accidents and other related matters.
· Comply with all reportorial requirements of the Company, OHS Standards, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
· Maintain liaison with safety officer of KPI and sub-contractors and government regulatory agencies.
· Responsible in complying with KTMS.PH (IMS) procedures, work instructions of related processes based on the implemented Integrated Management System.
· Completion of all KTMS.PH (IMS) documented information within the deadline, particularly with forms, checklists and/or other records necessary to the related processes, internal or external
· Any task in relation to the designation directed by Immediate Supervisor or Top Management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate of 4-year College Course with Diploma, preferably degree in Engineering Course is an advantage
· Must have undergone safety related training by an accredited training organization
· At least 3 years work experience in controlling safety rules and regulations at project site, such as undertaking safety orientation, safety inspection & patrol
· Knowledge in the implementation and supervision of OHS Standard and other requirement and legal requirements, rules & regulations and practice.
· Experience in the preparation of reports required by DOLE & DENR on scheduled submission
· Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Software
· Good oral and written communications skills
