The role of a field-based sales engineer is to achieve continuous sales and profit growth, being responsible for managing all aspects of an assigned portfolio of ‘value-add’ type customers within a specific territory, through building strong relationships with the different customers’ stakeholders with a consultative-selling approach, mostly via on-site visits.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ethically achieve Sales Targets to deliver real terms order growth through providing superior value to our customers, thereby creating sustainable partnerships
  • Exhibit good Health, Safety and Quality behaviors. Always demonstrate Company Values. Ensure laws, policies & procedures are complied with (Manage).
  • Seek Self-Generated Growth opportunities and integrate these into Sales Plan (Seek)
  • Develop and deliver Territory, Account and Call Plans that expand priority sectors to achieve planned growth (Plan)
  • Win business that drives superior value for our customers and ourselves (Sell)

Relevant Experience

  • Previous experience of a technical or commercial role within a customer facing environment
  • Proactive Portfolio Management
  • Digital connected services and/or sustainability knowledge
  • Experience with solution selling techniques
  • Understanding of typical steam and condensate applications, product, service, and training offerings
  • Cross functional Collaboration

Skills and Competencies

  • Target and goal driven demonstrates drive to ‘get things done’
  • Ability to present themselves in a confident and professional manor
  • Demonstrates empathy and listening skills
  • IT literate
  • Process and application knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Solid evidence of experience within similar industry.
  • Digital and/or sustainability knowledge.
  • Business management qualification
  • Technical qualification
