Credit Evaluation Officer - Corporate & Commercial Banking

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Credit Evaluation Officer in Corporate & Commercial Banking at PBCOM's Makati location. The role evaluates assigned borrowers' inherent risks via pre-approval credit due diligence. This is accomplished via Credit Application preparation and/or review. This role also recommends the appropriate structure, facilities, and level of business that the Bank may be able to undertake with an Entity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper evaluation of company or industry by utilizing all available information gathered through plant visit, customer interview, trade checking, reference check, industry evaluation, and others. Conduct financial evaluation and prepare re-casted financial statements as needed, to come up with more reflective statements. Recommend the appropriate security level, loan terms, and condition, etc.
- Ensure timely recognition of risk and recommend/take appropriate actions. Propose to downgrade and reclassify accounts as needed. Monitor industry trends to determine effects on the company's operations and financials.
- Ensure compliance with external regulations and Bank's internal policies, by raising potential or actual issues related to accounts/CAs covered.
- Provide high level of service to internal customers based on accuracy, responsiveness, and turnaround time.
- Understand the business cycle of the companies evaluated so the opportunities can be spotted which the bank RM and other units of the bank can work on.
Qualifications
- Graduate of any business-related course
- 2-8 years relevant experience with banks or financial institutions specifically handling corporate and commercial loans
- Strong credit analysis skills
- Proficient in financial modelling
- Effective Communication skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel
- Attention to detail and critical thinking
