Job Summary
The City of Gardendale is seeking to hire a Civic Center Director to oversee the planning, promoting and directing of operations and maintenance for the civic center and exhibition hall. Such individuals prepare for upcoming events at their facility by coordinating the marketing and promotional efforts, communicating with various department heads, approving layout and capacity of rooms, and hiring and scheduling the appropriate staff. They compose and review contracts with clients, evaluate proposals and bids from vendors and negotiate rental fees for rooms and facilities. Employees in this job class also develop and monitor the budget, establish policies and procedures for the facility and assign and review the work of subordinate staff.

- Experience performing the marketing and sales of various organizational services to external customers and/or organizations.
- Experience in a customer service role.

- Experience working in the operations of a civic center or similar facility.
