Role: Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist
Compensation: Competitive Basic Salary

Summary
The Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist is expected to maintain working papers, handle ad hoc tasks as required by the client, managing financial operations in compliance with Australian accounting standards. They excel in performing full reconciliations of accounts, including payables, receivables, and bank accounts, while overseeing AP/AR processes such as invoice uploads, API file generation, and payment preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full reconciliations of accounts, including payables, receivables, and bank accounts.
- Manage AP/AR processes, including invoice uploads, API file generation, and payment preparation.
- Oversee debtor collection reporting, ensuring accurate documentation for management review.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Process payroll for approximately 100 employees (60% casual), ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Manage compliance requirements, including superannuation, taxes, and other regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate with the administration team to ensure timely authorization of invoices and accurate time and attendance data.
- Utilize and transition to Tanda for payroll and time & attendance management (training provided).
- Work with Xero for accounting processes.
- Use Kangaroo Time for center management reporting and compliance with government requirements.
- Transition from Foundu to Tanda for HR, time & attendance, and payroll functions.
- Provide training and support for software adoption and ongoing usage.
- Serve as the primary contact for bookkeeping and payroll tasks, backed up by a secondary bookkeeper in the Philippines and an Australian-based backup.
- Ensure seamless coordination with the administration team responsible for invoice approvals and data collection for payroll.
Minimum Requirements:
- Software Proficiency: Knowledgeable in Australian accounting software, e.g., Xero, Tanda
- Qualifications: Must be degree qualified; CPA is an advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure work is error-free, professionally presented, and compliant with the companys procedures and systems.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the clients confidence by keeping financial information secure and confidential.
- Consultative Approach: Demonstrate an assertive and consultative communication style, providing valuable input and guidance as needed.
