We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with Xero experience to join our team! If you have a strong background in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general office administration, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & HR

  • Process payroll (weekly/fortnightly) and manage employee records in Xero.
  • Handle employee onboarding, tax declarations, and superannuation.
  • Verify timesheets and liaise with site supervisors.
  • Manage apprenticeship documentation and claims.
  • Maintain HR records, track pay raises, and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare employee contracts using Happy HR.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process and reconcile invoices, bills, and payments in Xero.
  • Verify and seek approvals for accounts payable transactions.
  • Manage project invoicing, progress payments, and retentions.
  • Follow up on overdue invoices to maintain cash flow.

General Administration

  • Manage business and workers' compensation insurance policies.
  • Maintain subcontractor records and process taxable payments.
  • Track project costs and profitability margins.
  • Handle office administration and file organization.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting, payroll, and financial administration.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Xero is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills
