The Opportunity
To support our commitment in providing world-class services, our Senior Engineer w ill be working with the Rail team based in Manila and across the Region, and external partners/clients whenever required.
Your role in our team
- Lead and manage the design and engineering of civil and structural components for rail and other infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Provide design expertise across the project lifecycle, from Master Plan and Feasibility Stages through Concept, Preliminary, and Detailed Design, and offer support during construction phases.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify and resolve engineering issues, if needed.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients, other consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies to address project requirements and challenges.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
- Mentor and provide training to junior engineers and project teams.
Is this role right for you?
- Licensed Engineer (Civil/Structural) or related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in civil and structural engineering gained from multi-disciplinary consulting firms or similar industries
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects. Specific rail project experience would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of and practical application of code of practice for both local (NBC, NSCP, DPWH) and international projects (ASCE, ACI, AISC, AASHTO, FHWA, ASTM, BS, Eurocodes, etc.), engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD/MicroStation, Revit, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, etc).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with project management and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel to other Arup offices in the East Asia / Southeast Asia or other Regions when required to enhance experience and skills.
