About the Role: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in risk management, solid understanding of operational processes, and the ability to effectively mitigate risk across departments. In this role, the person will be responsible in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks of the Firm’s clients and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess operational risk of the clients with the use of risk techniques and tools.
  • Analyze the day-to-day operations of the clients and determine the risks that may arise from internal challenges, mismanagement and breakdowns.
  • Development of the operational risk management framework, policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Collaborates with the other risk management functions, such as credit, market, and liquidity risk to ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of the operational risk controls, creates a report, and presents this to the senior management.
  • Provides leadership and guides the team which includes the setting of performance objectives, coaching, training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Business Administration or any related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operational Risk Management, with focus on internal controls, risk monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience in related fields such as operations management, finance, or compliance.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in Operational Risk Management.
  • Proficient in risk assessment techniques, tools, risk mapping and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. High proficiency in English is a must.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements/clients.
  • Can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent people management skills. Ability to build relationships, trust, manage performance and train their team.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Certifications in Operational Risk Management or other relevant certificates (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) and/or Master’s Degree is a plus.
