Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented US Bookkeeper / Tax Accountant to support our accounting firm clients in the United States. The ideal candidate should have experience in US GAAP, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, along with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and UltraTax. This role requires strong analytical skills, compliance knowledge, and the ability to work with multiple clients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping & Financial Management: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and manage general ledgers.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and file US individual (1040), corporate (1120/1120S), and partnership (1065) tax returns.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections while ensuring timely reconciliations.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist in payroll calculations and tax withholdings following US regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports for clients.
  • Tax Research & Advisory: Stay updated on US federal and state tax laws to ensure compliance and provide guidance.
  • Software Utilization: Work with QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, UltraTax, Drake, Lacerte, or ProSeriesfor tax and accounting tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or EA certification is a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience in US bookkeeping, tax accounting, or financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IRS tax codes, and state taxation.
  • Experience in preparing US tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065, etc.).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, UltraTax, Drake, Lacerte, or similar software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

  • Worked in a US-based accounting firm or offshore accounting services.
  • Familiarity with US payroll processing (ADP, Gusto, Paychex).
  • Knowledge of state-specific tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Must be open to work on nigh shift schedule / PST or EST
