Job Title: Mid-Level Software QA Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Software QA Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, with a focus on automation using Playwright. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our web applications. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to deliver high-quality software releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Test Automation Development:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.

Create and execute comprehensive test suites for web applications.

Implement and maintain a robust test automation framework.

  • Test Planning & Execution:

Analyze requirements and specifications to develop test plans and test cases.

Execute manual and automated tests, and report on test results.

Identify, document, and track software defects using a bug tracking system.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with developers and Product Managers to understand application functionality and identify potential issues.

Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability.

Communicate test results and defect status to stakeholders.

Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.

  • Continuous Improvement:

Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools and techniques.

Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Perform root cause analysis of defects and recommend solutions.

  • CI/CD Integration:

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Monitor test results within the CI/CD environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance
  • 2+ years of experience in test automation
  • Proven experience with Playwright for web application testing
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with API testing (e.g., Postman, REST Assured)
  • Knowledge of different testing methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Linear)
  • Amenable to work on a WFH Setup (but must be Iloilo-based)
  • Amenable to join the Dev team for once-a-week in person huddles in Iloilo

Preferred Qualifications:
