Job Description
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will conduct daily health checks, oversee real-time network monitoring, and swiftly troubleshoot incidents. You'll manage Data Center devices, ensure proper installation and maintenance of network equipment, and lead change management processes. Additionally, you'll document procedures, stay updated on emerging technologies, and serve as a Level 3 escalation for high-severity issues.

The Qualifications We Seek
Skills and Competencies
- 5 to 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a telecom company, ISP, BPO, or IT environment.
- CCNP/JNCIS certification or equivalent is required; ITIL Certification/IT Service Management is also required.
- Strong expertise in Fortigate firewalls.
- Proficiency in Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Mikrotik routers and switches.
- Deep knowledge of routing and Layer 3 network protocols, including Default, Static, OSPF, and BGP.
- Proficiency in switching and Layer 2 protocols, such as Ethernet, Fiber Optics, LAN/WAN, VLAN, VxLAN, QinQ, MPLS, EVPL, DLL, STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1X, 802.11, Bridge, LACP/Link Aggregation, and GRE tunnels.
- Expertise in next-generation firewalls and security protocols, including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, Sophos, and WatchGuard, as well as IPS/IDS, ACLs, Firewall Filters, NAT, IPSEC, and SSL-VPN.
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP, TCP/UDP, Radius/TACACS, CMDB, Configuration Management, and Backup.
- NAC or PacketFence administration experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in debugging logs and optimizing network device functionalities.
- Advanced administrative experience with network monitoring tools, such as PRTG, Ping Plotter, IPAM, SolarWinds NPM, Zabbix, and OpenNMS.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Ansible).
Technical Expertise
- Candidates should be specialists or subject matter experts in at least two of the following areas:
- Network Security – Building, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting next-gen and traditional firewalls.
- Enterprise Routing and Switching – Managing and troubleshooting WAN/LAN and BGP networks.
- Data Center Operations – Maintaining and optimizing Data Center infrastructure.
- Service Provider Networks – Designing, planning, recommending, and implementing network infrastructure solutions.
- Cloud Networking – Managing and troubleshooting Network or Infrastructure as a Service (NaaS/IaaS).
- Wireless Networks – Configuring and maintaining wireless access points and related infrastructure.
- Network Automation/DevOps – Developing and managing automation scripts, playbooks, APIs, and frameworks such as Ansible, Python, SALT, and LAMP.
Your Daily Tasks
- Perform daily health checks on network infrastructure by reviewing device logs and responding to alerts.
- Monitor and maintain real-time network monitoring of devices, connectivity, and utilization to ensure availability, redundancy, and stability.
- Investigate, isolate, and troubleshoot incidents and outages using known and published resolutions.
- Maintain Data Center devices and services in compliance with standard operating environments, ensuring proper patch cable structure, correct power cable insertion, operational cooling systems, logbook review, and biometric checks.
- Handle the installation, testing, and maintenance of network equipment, including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, UPS, and other devices.
- Participate in the change management lifecycle, including creating and implementing requests for change (RFCs), conducting peer reviews, and attending regular change review meetings.
- Document, create, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for troubleshooting.
- Ensure all tickets (service requests, incidents, changes, problems, etc.) are closed within SLA compliance.
- Provide quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to improve network infrastructure services.
- Act as Lead Engineer in the absence of the team lead or manager and serve as a Level 3 escalation for high-severity issues, VIP requests, and project implementation.
- Collaborate on planning, testing, and proof of concept for firmware and software upgrades, new devices, features, and products.
- Recommend improvements to network engineering principles, processes, and procedures.
- Work with IT departments and partners to resolve problems, incidents, outages, vulnerabilities, bugs, and patch remediation.
- Maintain a patch management strategy for network devices, ensuring compliance with best practices and audit requirements.
- Conduct technical peer reviews for standard and normal RFCs.
