Business Development Manager (Renewable Energy)
Objective:
Shall look for potential leads and clients for the origination of the company’s Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) projects specifically for commercial and industrial industries that require alternative energy solutions based on their roof space, energy consumption, and budget.
Dependencies:
Revenue Generating Groups – Engineering, Project Implementation & Procurement.
- Lead in transactions from end-to-end, including deal sourcing, research, deal evaluation and structuring, financial analysis (including preliminary financial modeling), negotiations and deal execution.
- Review and negotiate transaction-related documentation such as power purchase agreements, sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, subcontracts, and financing documents; and review (where appropriate) existing agreements (e.g. subcontracts) for commercial logic, red flags, and adequacy.
Minimum Required Experience:
- Experience in delivering high-value energy projects on time and to budget.
- Experienced in creating persuasive business development propositions relating to technology-based products and solutions.
- Experience understanding of PPAs, Grid Connection Agreements, etc.
- knowledge of EPC and O&M contracts.
- Advanced level in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint (additional software, including SalesForce, are a plus)
- Be able to develop, dissect, and perform a basic level of financial modeling using Excel-based programming.
- A thorough understanding of solar power project development (land (or rooftop, as the case may be), grid interconnection, and permitting) is a plus.
- Prior work experience in a renewable industry, corporate finance, or investment banking firm is preferred.
- Strong communicator – adept at building highly effective working relationships externally and with colleagues leading internal functions.
