Credit Analyst (Small Business Lending)

Our client is looking for a Credit Analyst with experience in small business lending in Australia.
The role requires you to provide high-quality credit analysis and decision recommendations for new and existing customers in line with their credit policies and operational procedures.
Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior credit analysts, underwriters, and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient processing of small business credit applications.
- Analyze financial statements, payslips, tax reports, credit reports, and other financial documents to assess the creditworthiness of applicants and validate income and expenses.
- Ensure that all credit decisions are made within the company's policies and the delegated lending authority limits.
- Provide support to senior staff in assessing higher-risk or complex credit applications and present findings to to them for further review or approval.
- Efficiently process queries and challenges posed by Business Development Managers, Account Managers & Referral Partners.
- Create feedback loop with Credit Team Lead to identify and address trends in high-risk client applications and transaction management.
- Other duties assigned by direct manager.
Position Requirements:
- A Bachelor's/College Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent preferred
- At least 3 years of working experience in Banking/Financial Services specifically on loan application processing and credit assessment.
- Experience with small business and self-employed credit assessment, cash flow lending and/or equipment finance
- Advanced interpersonal skills and the willingness to have difficult conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of Equifax and/or other Credit Bureau standards and procedures.
- Ability to write professional credit proposals that serve the interest of all parties involved.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to proficiently manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Experience working for an Australian financial institution or previously operating with a delegated lending authority is an advantage.
The role will be based out of the clients office in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig in a hybrid work set up.
