JOB TITLE - Design Manager – Architecture, MEP, Structural & Interior Design

We are rapidly expanding our capabilities in our Design Studio, where our team seamlessly integrate Architecture, Structures, MEP, Landscape, Interiors and Supervision to deliver a variety of innovative and value driven real estate assets.

As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design process for high-rise residential and hospitality projects from concept through to completion. This includes ensuring the integration of architecture, MEP, structural engineering, and interior design disciplines, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative solutions that align with the client’s vision and project requirements. The Design Manager will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of the project in line with the developer’s standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design Coordination:

• Oversee and coordinate the design process across architecture, MEP, structural, and interior disciplines.
• Facilitate communication between all project teams, including in-house designers, external consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure all designs meet the project objectives, budget, timeline, and regulatory requirements.
• Address design challenges, manage conflict resolution, and provide creative problem-solving solutions.
• Coordinate with the project management team to ensure the design process is aligned with construction timelines and milestones

Team Management & Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and designers.
• Ensure effective collaboration within the design team and across different departments (construction, procurement, etc.).
• Conduct regular design reviews and project meetings to ensure alignment with the project goals.

Design Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure that all designs meet local building codes, environmental regulations, and international standards.
• Maintain high standards of design quality, sustainability, and innovation.
• Oversee the review and approval of design deliverables, ensuring the final design solution meets the client’s expectations.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction:

• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and senior management to understand project objectives, requirements, and scope.
• Present design concepts and solutions to clients, incorporating feedback into design development.
• Ensure client’s vision and preferences are effectively integrated into the final design.

Project Delivery & Documentation:

• Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of design packages.
• Review and approve design documentation, ensuring that drawings and specifications are accurate and up-to-date.
• Oversee the preparation of design reports, cost estimates, and schedules, ensuring that they align with the overall project plan.

Budget & Cost Control:

• Work with the cost estimation team to manage the project design budget.
• Oversee the design development process to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented while maintaining high design quality.

Risk Management & Problem Solving:

• Identify potential design-related risks early in the project and work with relevant teams to mitigate them.
• Provide solutions to complex design challenges and ensure the resolution of any design-related issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: A degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in design management, with at least 5 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary teams on high-rise residential and hospitality projects.
• Strong Knowledge in All Disciplines:
• Architecture: Strong understanding of architectural design, planning, and detailing for high-rise buildings.
• MEP: Experience in managing MEP systems design, integration, and coordination.
• Structural Engineering: Proficiency in structural design and the ability to manage structural design teams.
• Interior Design: Experience in managing interior design teams for residential and hospitality projects, focusing on luxury and high-end finishes.
• Familiarity with UAE & Philippines Building Codes and standards, as well as international design standards and sustainability practices.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts and lead discussions with clients, senior management, and contractors.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, including experience in coordinating large-scale projects, managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with a major developer in the UAE or Philippines, particularly on high-rise residential and hospitality developments.
• Familiarity with local market conditions, regulatory environment, and construction practices in India.
• Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc.) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
