We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role will manage the month-end close process, supervise accounting staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting. While the primary focus is on operational accounting, the role also involves handling some technical accounting matters, such as revenue recognition and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and experienced in managing accounting functions in a fast-paced software environment, and Big 4 public accounting experience. This is a full time position through our BPO in the Philippines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Manage and oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, and reconciliations. Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Perform flux analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification of transactions and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Team Supervision & Development: Supervise and support accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting procedures, deadlines, and best practices. Train and mentor junior team members.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Work with auditors to support external and internal audits.
  • Revenue Recognition: Support the proper accounting treatment of revenue transactions, ensuring compliance with ASC 606. Work with sales and legal teams to assess contract terms.
  • Process Improvement & Systems: Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements in accounting workflows. Assist in system implementations and enhancements.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in audit requests and documentation preparation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, FP&A, and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a software or SaaS environment.
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, with working knowledge of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition).
  • Experience managing daily accounting functions, including general ledger, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Supervisory experience with accounting teams, providing mentorship and oversight.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience improving business processes and ERP system implementations.
  • SaaS or software industry experience, particularly with multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
