Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with QuickBooks Online. This role will encompass a wide range of accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and more. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process and manage vendor invoices, ensure accurate coding, and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and send customer invoices, track payments, and manage collections.
- Debtors Follow Up: Proactively follow up with customers on overdue payments and implement effective credit control measures.
- Year-End/Monthly Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to management and external accounting firms.
- Time Sheet Reporting: Manage and process employee time sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Customer and Vendor Setup: Create and maintain accurate customer and vendor records in our accounting system.
- Credit Control: Implement and monitor credit policies and procedures to minimize financial risk.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Bank Payments (Loading): Prepare and load bank payments for management approval.
- Payroll Processing: Initially manage payroll processing (transition to a third-party provider is planned).
- General Accounting: Address general accounting inquiries, perform journal entries, and assist with other accounting tasks as needed.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks Online for daily accounting tasks. Familiarity with JobBoss is a plus (training will be provided). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a senior role.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is essential.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with credit control.
- Experience with monthly and yearly reporting.
