Job Summary:

The Credit and Collection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the credit evaluation, approval, and collection processes to ensure the company's financial stability and minimize bad debt risks. This role involves supervising a team of credit analysts and collectors, coordinating with sales and finance departments, and maintaining strong relationships with clients to optimize collections while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Management:

  • Evaluate and approve customer credit applications based on financial analysis, payment history, and risk assessment.
  • Establish and review credit limits for customers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and analyze customer accounts to identify potential credit risks and take proactive measures

Collections Supervision:

  • Oversee the collections team to ensure timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Negotiate payment terms and settlements with customers while maintaining positive relationships.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable, collection status, and aging reports for management review.
  • Analyze collection trends and provide insights to improve cash flow and reduce bad debts.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to credit and collections.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor the credit and collection team to achieve department goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance team productivity.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with the sales, finance, and customer service teams to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction and timely payments.
  • Communicate credit and collection policies clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to credit and collections.
  • Implement risk management strategies to minimize credit exposure and bad debts.
  • Collaborate with legal teams for handling delinquent accounts and initiating legal action when necessary.

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
    • At least 2-4 years of experience in credit and collections, preferably in the pharmaceutical or distribution industry.
    • Proven leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
