The Credit Risk Operations Department Head is primarily responsible for strategizing and implementing an effective underwriting and loan approval process for unsecured consumer loan products, specifically credit cards and personal loans, in compliance with the existing credit parameters and regulatory requirements to address customers’ needs within prescribed turnaround time and thereby sustain business growth while mitigating as many undue risks as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Strives to be a competent Credit Manager by keeping abreast with the latest economic and industry data and trends and their implications on the unsecured consumer loan lending business of credit cards and personal loans. Must be knowledgeable of the department’s organizational structure and objectives as well as of related internal and regulatory credit policies and procedures and ensures that these are properly cascaded to direct reports to effectively manage credit initiation and underwriting.
  • Identifies problem areas on manpower and service quality and recommends innovative solutions. Formulates and implements new ways of doing things to effectively meet business goals and clients’ credit needs.
  • Ensures achievement of committed Key Results Areas on PDO rates, RAM, TAT and budget management
  • Motivates direct reports and staffs and encourages teamwork within the group through proper guidance and coaching so that Junior Designated Lending Officers and credit analysts are able to deliver their respective commitments and responsibilities in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of any four (4) year business related course
  • At least 6 to 10 years of leadership experience in credit evaluation and operations
  • Skills: people management, analytics, and risk management
