Job Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer at our Steel Plant, you will be responsible for supporting the design, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems used in the production of steel. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth operations and the continuous improvement of plant efficiency and safety.
Your Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design & Analysis: Design and analyze mechanical components and systems used in steel production, including conveyors, furnaces, and cooling systems.
- Maintenance Support: Assist in the planning, implementation, and troubleshooting of preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems and machinery within the plant.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with senior engineers and plant managers to optimize mechanical processes, increase efficiency, and reduce downtime.
- Project Management: Assist in managing small to medium-scale projects for mechanical system improvements, upgrades, or repairs.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to the production team, offering solutions to mechanical issues that arise during manufacturing processes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of designs, modifications, maintenance schedules, and operational data.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure mechanical systems and equipment meet all safety standards and regulations within the plant, promoting a safe work environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or steel plant environment. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery.
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes in a heavy industry setting.
- Basic understanding of mechanical troubleshooting, failure analysis, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Experience with steel plant operations or similar industrial settings.
- Knowledge of materials science and metallurgy.
- Certification in project management or engineering-related fields (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) is a plus.
