JOB SUMMARY
The Business Continuity Strategy & Governance Specialist leads in developing and integrating the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery programs in compliance with local and international regulations and standards. The role the following duties and responsibilities:
- Leads in planning and designing for the company-wide business continuity and disaster recovery management programs, including maturity models, methodologies, sourcing strategies, plans, and metrics for all components of the program(s).
- Analyzes and evaluates complex technical and business requirements in terms of its objectives, functionality and constraints on the environment that drive critical business and ecosystem functions.
- Develops risk management procedures, business continuity scenarios, and contingencies and advises on business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Performs operational risk scoping exercise through Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Assessment (RA) in determining risk exposure areas.
- Contributes to senior management reports on the business impact, cost, and expectations of the corporate business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
- Provides documentation on Contingency Planning concepts and procedures to all employees having a need to understand the Business Continuity Planning process.
- Recommends or implements methods to monitor, evaluate, or enable resolution of safety, operations, or compliance interruptions.
- Works with Corporate Safety, Occupational Health and Environment Management Office, Facilities, Enterprise-wide Risk Management Office, Audit, and the MERALCO BCM Core Group to implement appropriate policies, standards and procedures.
- Continues external networking and collaboration with partners from PDRF, BFP, DOE and other related organizations.
- Researches technology and processes in the industry to ensure that the enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery processes are founded on best practice.
- Provides a 24/7 on-call support for any emergency, which may require activation of all or part of the Business Continuity Plans. Serves as liaison between the Crisis Management Team (i.e., senior management) and the various Business Continuity Teams.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Bachelor’s degree holder
- Previous work experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery will be an advantage
- Reasonable depth of exposure/ understanding of Business Continuity Management processes and best practices
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, especially related to facilitation and documentation
