Role Overview
The Tax Audit and Planning Manager role will address both Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Local Government Unit (LGU) audit requirements of the organization and is responsible for delivering tax advisory and planning opportunities across both Direct and Indirect Taxes. He/ She will provide overall direction, technical expertise, coordination, and implementation of tax research, planning and structuring of projects across a multitude of topics ranging from internal restructurings, M&A, cross-border tax issues, VAT, repatriation, international audits, and global employee mobility. This role is also responsible for the Transfer Pricing documentation requirements and assessments by the BIR.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of all BIR and LGU audits and inquiries of CCBPI and subsidiaries; represent the company in resolving alleged tax deficiencies from tax authorities; develop and implement strategies to defend tax positions;
- Provide strategic and practical tax advice for project planning and other business initiatives;
- Provide information and expertise in the interpretation of tax laws and new legislations and its impact on the business;
- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the Transfer Pricing policies and processes of the group;
- Establish strong communication line with the relevant tax authority and local government;
- Initiate and develop key tax strategies to establish audit-ready processes and documentation to accelerate audit cycle timelines and results;
- Management of external consultants’ performance and cost;
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Tax audit/ advisory experience gained from BIG 4 audit firms; or experience gained from a Tax Department of companies of similar nature.
- Extensive knowledge of the tax laws and understanding of both the tasks and processes within the tax compliance activities, as well as how tax compliance links to other business processes and the bigger picture.
- Strong analytical and critical capabilities, exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
