The Operations & Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the solar power plant. His primary focus will be on monitoring system performance, conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing the overall performance of the solar farm. Additionally, this role will be in charge of preparing and/or submitting necessary reports and/or compliances to Head Office, NGCP, and other government regulatory bodies. He will work closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the performance of solar panels, inverters, and other critical components using monitoring systems (SCADA, Fusion solar, etc.) to identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Basic knowledge in Project Management and knowledge in SQL programming/server is an advantage.
  • Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of faulty equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
  • Implements and adheres to safety protocols and ensures that all work done are in accordance to safety, operations and maintenance manual, drawings, environmental policy, and all applicable standards and procedures.
  • Monitors system efficiency and implements measures to enhance energy production, including cleaning panels, adjusting settings, and recommending equipment upgrades.
  • Maintains detailed records of maintenance activities, performance metrics, and incidents. Prepares and presents regular reports on system status and performance to immediate head and other departments.
  • Collaborates with Plant O&M teams, technicians, and contractors to ensure effective maintenance and repair operations. Communicates with immediate head and other departments to update them on the status and performance of the solar farm.
  • Responds to unexpected incidents or emergencies, such as equipment failures or safety hazards, and develops contingency plans as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Electrical Engineering.
  • With at least 4 years of related work experience in operations and maintenance of power plants, transmission, or distribution utility or industrial plants.
  • Knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems, electrical systems, and related components.
  • Proficiency in using SCADA systems and other monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using MS office (such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AutoCAD.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to be assigned in Tuy, Batangas.
