Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Buyer located in Quezon City. The Junior Buyer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as purchasing fashion and retail products, analyzing market trends, managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and negotiating prices. The role also includes sales activities, ensuring that the company’s product mix meets customer demands, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Trend Forecasting:

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, consumer preferences, and market shifts.
  • Analyze fashion shows, trend reports, and market data to predict upcoming trends.

Product Design and Development:

  • Conceptualize and create new product ideas.
  • Work with designers to develop prototypes and samples.
  • Ensure that products align with the brand's identity and market demands.
  • Work on product development for all style requirements of handled brands.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on competitors, market conditions, and consumer behavior.
  • Use data analytics to identify opportunities and gaps in the market.
  • Develop strategies to capitalize on market trends and consumer preferences.

Product Management:

  • Track orders and shipments for every season buying.
  • Overall management of brands handled, including brand direction, product samples, etc.
  • Monitor delivery & sell-through of products & analyze running sales.
  • Recommends timely markdowns and promotions for inventory liquidation.
  • Conducts store visits for customer feedback & competitive research.

Vendor Management:

  • Identify and establish relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts to secure the best deals.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Inventory Management:

  • Plan and manage inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking.
  • Work with Merchandising Head on OTB requirements per season.
  • Analyze sales data to forecast demand and adjust inventory accordingly.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team for collaterals needed for the brands.
  • Coordinate with Logistics on timely delivery to all stores.
  • Support all needed information asked of other departments.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field is usually preferred.
  • Some employers may accept relevant experience in place of formal education
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-tasking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with procurement software preferred
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting a team environment
  • 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role preferred
