Role Description
The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of a hybrid reading and writing challenge series. This role involves managing timelines, coordinating with the team, and ensuring the overall event runs smoothly. The Event Manager will also take a hands-on role in developing challenge guides and evaluating participant submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management:
- Plan and oversee the end-to-end execution of the challenges, including online and offline components.
- Create and manage detailed project timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.
Team Coordination:
- Lead coordination meetings and communicate responsibilities to team members and volunteers.
- Resolve issues and bottlenecks, ensuring smooth collaboration across all stakeholders.
Social Media Management:
- Manage day-to-day social media account
- Design challenge guides and activity frameworks tailored to the event themes.
- Collaborate with content experts and guest speakers to refine event materials.
Submission Evaluation:
- Review participant submissions and coordinate evaluation criteria with judges or mentors.
- Provide feedback to participants and identify standout works for recognition.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor event progress and maintain detailed records of activities and outcomes.
- Prepare post-event reports, summarizing participant feedback, engagement metrics, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Event Planning, Organization, and Execution skills
- Marketing and Promotional skills
- Budget Management and Negotiation skills
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in cultural event management is a plus
