Position Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Assurance/Sanitation Manager to oversee all aspects of hygiene and sanitation within our bakery production commissary. The Quality Assurance and Sanitation Manager will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, implementing food safety protocols, and ensuring strict hygiene standards to protect the quality and integrity of our baked goods, with a strong focus on expediting HACCP certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement hygiene and sanitation policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, ensuring alignment with the goal of achieving HACCP certification as soon as possible.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the production facility to ensure cleanliness, proper sanitation, and adherence to hygiene protocols.
  • Process the Certificate of Product Registration and Nutrition Facts Table in collaboration with a third-party laboratory
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and customers during hygiene inspections and audits.
  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to establish and maintain hygiene and sanitation standards for equipment, utensils, and work areas.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on hygiene practices, including hand hygiene, cleaning techniques, and personal protective equipment usage.
  • Monitor and analyze hygiene-related data, such as microbial testing results and sanitation audit findings, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage practices.
  • Investigate hygiene-related incidents or complaints and develop preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Stay informed about developments in food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and sanitation technologies to continuously enhance the hygiene program.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hygiene or sanitation role within the food manufacturing industry, with specific experience in bakery production highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMPs, and FDA/USDA guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively train, motivate, and supervise staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and hygiene/sanitation management software.
