Role Overview
The Tactical Procurement Associate Manager will be responsible for executing the procurement strategy by managing day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring that goods and services are sourced at the best possible value and in a timely manner. This role will also lead a team of procurement associates, ensuring alignment with company goals and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy Execution: Implement and manage tactical procurement strategies, ensuring that purchasing aligns with business requirements and objectives.
- Supplier Management: Maintain and nurture relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and prices to maximize value for the company.
- Purchasing & Ordering: Oversee the timely purchasing and ordering of goods/services while monitoring inventory levels and supplier performance.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of procurement associates, ensuring effective task delegation and professional development.
- Contract Management: Support the negotiation, renewal, and compliance monitoring of supplier contracts.
- Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and work toward achieving budget goals without sacrificing quality
- Vendor Performance Evaluation: Continuously assess supplier performance, conducting audits, reviews, and reporting on KPIs such as lead time, cost, and quality.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes, ensuring efficiency and reducing lead times.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, logistics, operations) to align procurement efforts with organizational goals
- Risk Management: Proactively manage supply chain risks by identifying potential disruptions and developing mitigation plans.
- Support the category towers on other tactical activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or relative majors is required
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience in Procurement and Category Management, Governance, Process Improvement, and Policy Implementation
- Background in Procurement Governance and Process Improvement skills is an advantage.
