We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Designer to independently lead the design development of housewares products. This role requires a strong individual contributor who can drive projects from concept to execution, leveraging SolidWorks expertise to create precise technical drawings, 3D models, and prototypes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process, from initial concept ideation to final production-ready specifications.
  • Utilize SolidWorks extensively for 3D modeling, CAD drawings, and product visualization, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Develop detailed tech packs and engineering-ready CAD files for manufacturing, ensuring compliance with production standards.
  • Create high-quality 3D renderings and prototypes using SolidWorks and KeyShot to support internal design reviews and client presentations.
  • Conduct trend research and compile insights from publications, trade shows, and online resources to guide product development.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Leadership, and Product Development teams to identify product opportunities and align designs with market trends.
  • Work closely with Sourcing and Manufacturing teams to optimize design feasibility, ensuring cost-effective production while maintaining design integrity.
  • Review, approve, and provide feedback on prototypes and approval samples, ensuring alignment with design intent and manufacturing requirements.
  • Manage project timelines independently, ensuring deliverables are met efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CPG product design (housewares experience preferred).
  • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks for CAD modeling, technical drawings, and product visualization.
  • Strong skills in KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, ceramics, glass, metal, and wood production.
  • Understanding of engineering principles to ensure products are both functional and cost-efficient.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to collaborate effectively across departments.
