Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst in Data Science plays a critical role in understanding and defining business problems, gathering, and analyzing data, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions. This position helps organizations make informed decisions by providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders and subject matter experts, to understand business objectives, challenges, and data-related needs.
- Translate business requirements into clear and actionable data science project specifications.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Identify and gather relevant data from various sources, both internal and external, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can address business challenges or opportunities.
Data Preparation and Cleansing:
- Prepare and clean data for analysis, including data transformation, data cleansing, and feature engineering.
Collaboration with Data Scientists:
- Provide data context and domain knowledge to data science teams to inform modeling and analysis.
Model Evaluation and Validation:
- Assist in evaluating and validating data science models, ensuring they align with business requirements and goals.
Reporting and Visualization:
- Create clear and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Project Management:
- Manage project timelines, tasks, and deliverables related to data science projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data science and analytics.
- Suggest improvements to data processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Proven experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, advanced Excel, and data visualization tools like Looker Studio.
- Familiarity with out-of-home solutions and platforms like Broadsign is a plus.
- Familiarity with data science concepts, machine learning, and statistical analysis is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
- Project management skills to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is beneficial.
