DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a key member of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s growth and ensuring our clients receive exceptional service as we scale. You will be responsible for:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping, including reconciliations and month-end close.
  • Handle 1099 filings, payroll journal entries, 941 payroll tax reconciliations, and audit payroll benefits liability accounts for accuracy.
  • Calculate commissions for payroll using Excel.
  • Maintain financial records using full accrual basis accounting.
  • Identify discrepancies, correct errors, and clean up books for new and existing clients.

Client Communication:

  • Communicate with clients to provide timely updates and address complex questions.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly Loom video summaries for financial reports, ensuring clients understand their financial data in a clear and approachable manner.

Leadership tasks:

  • Design and implement streamlined bookkeeping workflows in TaxDome to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review the bookkeeper’s work for accuracy, address flagged issues, and provide clear feedback directly to the bookkeeper to ensure quality.
  • Other tasks as assigned to adapt to evolving needs of the firm.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, CPA is a strong advantage.
  • 4-5 years of US bookkeeping experience in an accounting or bookkeeping firm.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. Training will be provided within the first 90 days to obtain QuickBooks Online Advanced certification/badge.
  • Experience with Gusto, Bill.com, AutoEntry, and TaxDome is a plus. Training will be provided within the first 90 days to ensure proficiency.
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, vlookups, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
