Position Summary:
This position responsible for the development, oversight and execution of the data strategy of the Thermal Group to achieve and sustain the effective management of the enterprise data assets and the technologies supporting (i.e. data lake, data warehouse) the data life cycle, from creation through delivery, maintenance and archiving.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Math, Statistics or related discipline/field or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years relevant experience in the following:
- Data management and data warehousing
- Data architecture, analysis and design tools
- Programming using SQL, R, Python
- At least 3 years Managerial (related) experience
- Preferably with project management experience
- Any or combination, but not limited to the following:
- Google Data Analytics Certification
- BM Data Analytics Certification
- International Association of Business Analytics Certifications

- Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques.
- Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
- Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
- Experience working with, creating and maintaining databases and repositories using best of breed data backup, rollback and version control solutions.
- Experience working in a Power Plant, knowledgeable in O&M processes and support business processes and procedures.
- Data Analytics Phases - Familiarity with the typical phases of data analytics (ask, prepare, process, analyze, share, and act.)
- Statistical Analysis- Familiar with both descriptive and inferential statistical tools and techniques.
- Data Science and Analytic Tools - Familiar one or more of the following tools (Jupyter Notebook, Google Collab, RStudio)
- Data Visualization – Understanding of and experience using one or more of the following tools (Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio/Looker)
