Company Overview
Breadcrumbs is a blockchain investigation tool used by law enforcement agencies, compliance teams, and financial crime investigators to analyze blockchain transactions and identify illicit financial activities. We specialize in blockchain attribution, transaction tracking, and risk analysis, helping investigators uncover fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes.
The Intel Team plays a critical role in supporting these investigations by collecting, structuring, and verifying blockchain data.
Role Overview
We are looking for a junior Blockchain Data Analyst to help gather, verify, and structure blockchain transaction data that supports investigations. This is an entry-level role, ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals with a background in, data analytics , finance and accounting, or blockchain analytics.
If you are passionate about blockchain technology, data analysis, and investigations—whether through academic work, side projects, or experience in a local blockchain-related company—this role will allow you to develop expertise in blockchain forensics and transaction intelligence.
What You’ll Do
• Research and document blockchain transaction data, addresses, and related metadata from sources such as:
- Blockchain exchanges (800+ exchanges, updated annually)
- Bitcoin ATMs (top 40 operators via secret shopper network)
- Blockchain payment services (e.g., CoinPayments, Coinbase, BitPay)
- Blockchain bridges and swapping services
• Verify and validate blockchain addresses and transaction data to ensure accuracy for law enforcement use.
• Organize and maintain structured datasets used for investigations.
• Analyze blockchain transactions to identify patterns, attribution heuristics, and potential illicit activity.
• Stay updated on blockchain services, protocols, and transaction behaviors to improve data accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance data collection workflows and optimize attribution models.
What We’re Looking For
- Recent graduate or early-career professional in data science, computer science, finance, or a related field. Candidates who are passionate about blockchain technology are also welcome to apply.
- Interest in blockchain data analysis, transaction monitoring, and attribution modeling.
- Basic experience with Google Sheets, SQL, Python, or APIs (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with blockchain explorers (e.g., Etherscan, Mempool, Tronscan) or an eagerness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail—accuracy is critical for law enforcement investigations.
- Ability to work independently, investigate discrepancies, and structure large datasets.
- Previous experience at a blockchain exchange, DeFi platform, payment processor, or blockchain-related company is a plus.
Why Join Us?
- Gain hands-on experience in blockchain investigations and forensic analysis.
- Work on real-world blockchain investigations that impact law enforcement and financial crime investigations.
- Collaborate with experts in the field and develop skills in blockchain intelligence and risk analysis.
- Flexible remote work environment with room to grow in the blockchain intelligence space.
