Position Summary:

The Design Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of design operations, ensuring that projects such as Annual Reports, Proxy Statements, Sustainability Reports, and Internal Projects adhere to company standards and client expectations. This role is critical in managing team resources, refining workflows, and delivering high-quality, timely visual outputs. It focuses on operational leadership rather than creative direction, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Operations Leadership:

  • Oversee daily design activities, ensuring projects meet timelines and quality benchmarks.
  • Establish, refine, and enforce design workflows and processes.

2. Quality Control & Standards:

  • Implement regular review mechanisms to maintain and exceed quality standards.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with brand and client guidelines.

3. Resources and Team Management:

  • Allocate resources effectively for maximum productivity.
  • Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, engineering, and other departments to integrate design seamlessly across projects.
  • Serve as a liaison to align design initiatives with organizational objectives.

5. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Maintain smooth project progression by addressing challenges proactively.

6. Talent Development:

  • Lead recruitment efforts and provide training programs to upskill team members.
  • bConduct performance reviews and develop succession plans for leadership stability.

Qualifications:

-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.

-Experience:

  • Proven leadership in design operations with a strong portfolio.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a manager of design teams with knowledge of business management practice of cost projection, KPI design and tracking
  • Expertise in project management, resource allocation, and delivering on organizational priorities.
  • Experience in publishing and financial document design is an advantage.

-Skills:

  • Proficiency in design tools and software.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on efficiency and quality.

-Ready for rotating shifts and graveyard coverage as needed

-Willing to work onsite at least 3 times a week and as many as needed depending on work demands
