Theoria’s Medical Records Department is seeking individuals to join its team as a medical records specialist.


Shift Structure



  • 24/7 coverage with rotating 8-hour shifts, 7 am-3 pm, 3 pm-11 pm- 11 pm-7 am (EST)

  • This is a fully remote position.

  • This is a full time position requiring 5 days a week of eight-hour shifts.




Essential Functions & Responsibilities and Physical Requirements



  • Maintain physical medical records

  • Update patients' electronic health records (EHR)

  • Respond to ROI (release of information) requests for medical records

  • Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical information

  • Ensure that clinical documentation of the services provided to our patients is correct

  • Prepare schedules for patient visits

  • Follow all HIPAA regulations

  • Perform other clerical duties as needed

  • Will be handling inbound and outbound calls



Requirements and Qualifications



  • Knowledge in medical terminology and electronic health records is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Computer proficiency and attention to detail.

  • Healthcare/Medical background

  • Knowledgeable in call handling



Physical Requirements



  • Must be punctual or on time and adhere to the company's Time and Attendance policy.

  • Must be able to remain sitting for the majority of their shift.
